WASHINGTON -- The National Security Agency, in carrying out President Bush's order to intercept the international phone calls and e-mails of Americans suspected of links to Al Qaeda, has probably been using computers to monitor all other Americans' international communications as well, according to specialists familiar with the workings of the NSA.

The Bush administration and the NSA have declined to provide details about the program the president authorized in 2001, but specialists said the agency serves as a vast data collection and sorting operation. It captures reams of data from satellites, fiberoptic lines, and Internet switching stations, and then uses a computer to check for names, numbers, and words that have been identified as suspicious.

''The whole idea of the NSA is intercepting huge streams of communications, taking in 2 million pieces of communications an hour," said James Bamford, the author of two books on the NSA, who was the first to reveal the inner workings of the secret agency.

''They have a capacity to listen to every overseas phone call," said Tom Blanton, director of the National Security Archive at George Washington University, which has obtained documents about the NSA using Freedom of Information Act requests.

WASHINGTON—December 22, 2005—TomFlocco.com—There is evidence that President Bush’s executive order authorizing eavesdropping on phone conversations of U.S. citizens, monitoring email and gaining access to private computers while failing to follow the law requiring court-ordered warrants may amount to criminal activity.

Internet IP address logs from this writer’s computer firewall security system provide evidence that the Department of Defense (DOD) is conducting surveillance, since logs show DOD internet identification numbers during specific occasions while we conducted phone interviews with intelligence agents and sources, and also while reports were being word-processed for stories regarding White House crime family activities.

DOD intrusion attempts to monitor the contents of our computer, track key-strokes or install a surveillance device were listed in our firewall security log as “high-rated attacks” by the U.S. government, the circumstances about which this writer and other witnesses would be willing to testify if subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury or Congress.

In a move reminiscent of President Nixon’s secret “enemies list,” Mr. Bush’s domestic surveillance program raises questions whether he is employing the Defense Department to spy on Americans not only for the “War on Terror,” but also as a pretext to conduct warrant-less monitoring of political enemies, anti-war activists, whistleblowers and unfriendly alternative journalists without a paper trail—both inside and outside the USA.

What's He Doin'?

Okay, the last time I called attention to the new-found twitch in President Bush's delivery, it was after the speech introducing now-Chief Justice John Roberts, and many commenters protested that the President was just suppressing laughter at the antics of Roberts' rambunctious son, present at the festivities. That, even though most people's attempts to avoid laughter don't involve a repetitive twitch.

Fine. In the intervening weeks, I've watched Bush speeches regularly, and the twitch has remained a constant, although not in extemporaneous appearances. Now, this week, in his press conference announcing the nomination of Harriet Miers, the President has broken through that barrier, and here is the video evidence. As far as we know, the unmarried Ms. Miers didn't bring her non-existent rambunctious son to tempt the President into laughter. Other explanations, of course, are welcome.

Also this blog entry by America Blog's "John in DC" is worthy of reposting.

Why is Bush's jaw suddenly spasming, and/or teeth grinding uncontrollably?

A source in the media, who has the opportunity to see the president in person regularly, has pointed out to me that Bush appears to be uncontrollably grinding his teeth, or having a jaw spasm, when he speaks.

Reader Eric sent me a link to a video on the Huffington Post (the video is here, their post on an unrelated topic is here) that clearly shows this problem at the end of Bush's sentences, his lower jaw twitches or grinds. Eric and his friends noticed it too.

I'm told by folks who know that this is something that happens when people do too much cocaine. I've also heard that alcohol abuse can do the same.

Any experts out there want to weigh in? The man is our commander in chief during war time, we have the right to know that he's well.

By the way, I did some research on the other effects of cocaine use:

* Central nervous system and psychiatric effects: Users who have pleasurable experiences report varying degrees of euphoria; increased energy, excitement, and sociability; less hunger and fatigue; a marked feeling of increased physical and mental strength; and decreased sensation of pain. Some will feel a great sense of power and competence that may be associated with the delusion or false sense of grandeur, known as cocainomania. There can be talkativeness, good humor, and laughing. Dilated pupils, nausea, vomiting, headache, or vertigo (the sensation of your surroundings or yourself moving or spinning). With or even without increased amounts of coke, these can progress to excitement, flightiness, emotional instability, restlessness, irritability, apprehension, inability to sit still, teeth grinding, cold sweats, tremors, twitching of small muscles (especially of face, fingers, feet), muscle jerks, hallucinations (cocaine bugs, snow lights, voices and sounds, smells), and cocaine psychosis. Cocaine psychosis resembles paranoid schizophrenia and can bring on paranoia, mania, and psychosis.Sound like anybody we know?

CLEVELAND - Erie County Prosecutor Kevin J. Baxter is investigating whether the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections broke the law in its recount of ballots from the November presidential election.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor William Mason appointed Baxter as a special prosecutor in the case because the board of elections is Mason's client, which could pose a conflict of interest, said Mason spokeswoman Jamie Dalton.

Baxter said he didn't know yet whether the allegations have any validity. He said his investigators will begin interviewing people in the next several weeks.

``If it goes nowhere, it goes nowhere,'' Baxter said. ``We'll just start from the beginning... This is rather preliminary.''

The probe stems from two requests written to Mason: one from minor-party presidential candidates David Cobb and Michael Badnarik, and another from entrepreneurial consultant Edward Michael Caner.

Dalton said Mason turned over the papers March 2.

The complaints allege that the board violated state law because the precincts it recounted were neither randomly selected nor was the opening of ballots properly witnessed.

In addition, Cobb and Badnarik allege that there were problems with the board's ballot-transfer cases, which can reveal whether the precinct used the ballots assigned to it or whether ballots from other precincts were used.

Finally, they contend that the county's vote-tabulation machines were used improperly and that discrepancies exist between the certified recount and the certified original vote.

All this was done to cover up problems in the November vote and ensure that no hand-recount would have to be done around the county, the letter from Cobb and Badnarik alleges.

Board's response
Michael Vu, director of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, declined to comment on specifics of the case but said ``we will cooperate fully with the Erie County prosecutor.''

Vu said the elections procedure ``needs to be a transparent process.''

The board's elections coordinator, Jacqui Maiden, told the board in its Feb. 8 meeting that the recount was handled based on a recount of a Garfield Heights Municipal Court judge election from 1981 and that the procedures used in November ``are the same that has been used in the past.''

The procedure Maiden cited included picking 3 percent of the precincts for a hand count, but the meeting minutes didn't indicate whether the board picked the 3 percent at random.

According to the complaint filed by both the candidates and their lawyer, Richard Kerger of Toledo, the board did not randomly select 3 percent of the county's precincts to recount, as required by state law. Instead, the county selected recount precincts only from among those with 550 voters or more, which eliminated 90 percent of the county's precincts, according to the letter.

As Caner put it in his shorter e-mail: ``This is similar to randomly drawing a card out of a deck, but before doing so, eliminating all suits but hearts.''

In addition, the candidates' letter contends that the way the precincts were chosen seems ``to be of a special sort: those in which (U.S. Sen. John) Kerry received either his largest or second largest number of votes in the ward. This meant that precincts in which (President) Bush received an unusually high number of votes could not be examined, nor could the precincts in which the third-party candidates received unusually high vote totals.''

The letter said there is no way this phenomenon happened at random.

More allegations
The letter alleges that Maiden admitted in a Dec. 22 meeting that ``ballots in selected precincts had been opened without the presence of witnesses and had been sorted and hand counted in advance of the original recount'' -- setting up a test-run to assure that the recount would comport closely with the original count so that a full hand count wouldn't have to be conducted.

As for the transfer-case problem, the letter alleges that on Dec. 17, a number of precincts were found to have had problems -- namely some ballots assigned to one precinct were used in another, or too many or too few ballots were used.

The letter suggested that ``the (election) staff had been assigned to clean-up the tell-tale evidence of election irregularities within the cases.''

Kerger said Thursday that Cuyahoga County was the only county to receive a letter like the one he referred to Mason's office. He said generally he understands that county boards of elections, mostly made up of volunteers, aren't going to run perfect elections. ``If we hold the Super Bowl every four years, we wouldn't expect the referees to be perfect,'' he said.

However, what he found in Cuyahoga County was different. There ``it seemed to be more than just a mistake,'' he said.

Montgomery County, Maryland.
According to county election officials and other sources, all Maryland voting machines have been on "lockdown" since November 2, 2004 due to statewide machine failures including 12% of machines in Montgomery County, some of which appear to have lost votes in significant numbers. The State Board of Elections convinced the media that Election Day went smoothly, when in fact there were serious statewide, systemic problems with the Diebold electronic voting machines -- so serious that the SBE and Diebold still have not figured out how to prevent the loss of votes in the future.

"Election Day was anything but smooth. Votes were lost, computer cards storing votes were unreadable, thousands of error messages were reported, machines froze in mid-voting and machines refused to boot up. The problems with the machines were so widespread and serious that efforts to hide the problems have failed," said Linda Schade, director of TrueVoteMD.org. "It is not sufficient for Diebold and the SBE to investigate themselves. They have misled the public about this problem and an independent investigation is needed. Further, these problems indicate that the Diebold machines should be decertified as required by Maryland law and as provided for in the Diebold contract. This is an opportunity to correct the mistaken purchase of paperless electronic voting machines. Diebold should refund Maryland tax dollars and we should start anew with a system that voters trust because it can be independently audited and recounts can be meaningful."

VOTES LOST:
According to the IT Report to the Montgomery County Election Board, dated December 13, 2004 there were two broad levels of problems. Seven percent of units (189) failed. This included failure to boot up, screen freezes and a variety of other problems. Screen freezes, which occurred on 106 voting units were "the most serious of errors" because many "froze when the voter pressed the Cast Ballot button." As a result "election judges are unable to provide substantial confirmation that the vote was in fact counted." In addition there were "122 suspect units (5%) were identified because the unit had few votes captured compared to other voting units in the polling place. A unit was considered suspect if it had 25-50 votes captured when all other units in the polling place had over 150 votes," the report stated. The IT report includes other details of Diebold machine failures including smart card and encoder problems as well as thousands of yet unexplained error messages, now called 'ballot exception errors."

UNREADABLE PC MEMORY CARDS:
Multiple sources also have revealed that the computer memory cards on which vote totals are stored inside each voting machine were unreadable in multiple counties.

DIEBOLD UNABLE TO RESOLVE TECHNICAL FAILURE FOUR MONTHS AFTER ELECTION:
After IT examinations within Maryland failed to decipher the root of these problems, the State Board and Diebold sent voting machines to several out-of-state locations in Texas and Ohio for further testing, according to a Diebold memo dated February 16, 2005. As of the March 3 Montgomery County Election Board meeting, the PC memory card problems as well as those listed above cannot be explained by Diebold, according the IT report.

MACHINE FAILURES STATEWIDE:
Montgomery County Elections official Sam Statland has acknowledged that local boards around the state are gravely concerned about the Diebold system's performance and are pressuring the State Board of Elections for answers. In testimony before the State House Ways and Means on February 24, 2005, Mr. Statland cited the facts above and asserted that "Since the 2000 election cycle, the State of Maryland has become and still is a 'test site' for electronic voting." In the January State Board of Elections meeting, Linda Lamone discussed the "performance problems" and confirmed that "once [Montgomery County was] finished they will start the same process in the other counties, beginning with Baltimore County."

TRUEVOTEMD CALLS FOR INDEPENDENT REVIEW AND DECERTIFICATION OF MACHINES AS REQUIRED BY LAW:
TruVoteMD, an election integrity organization, is now calling for an independent investigation and for de-certification of the machines as required by Maryland election law (MD Code, Election Law Â§ 9-102(c)(1)).* TrueVoteMD.org, which has been raising the alarm for nearly two years that the electronic Diebold voting system has serious vulnerabilities and is susceptible to computer malfunction and fraud, is a founding organization in VoteTrustUSA, a national network of state election integrity groups. This information is confirmed by TrueVoteMD's Election Day report "When the Right to Vote Goes Wrong: MD Voters Tell The Story of Election Day 2004"

"If the gubernatorial race in 2006 is as close as 2002 it would only take four errors per precinct to change the outcome of the election. Maryland cannot risk the election disaster that is impending. Maryland was lucky the presidential election in Maryland was not close; otherwise we would be embroiled in scandal to this day. It is time to put in place a system that is reliable and that voters can trust," concluded Schade. "Three independent reports have raised serious concerns about the security of Diebold machines, and now we have seen the worst come to pass. These machines are unreliable and insecure. How many more warnings do Maryland officials need in order to take action to protect the vote?"

I rarely like to dwell in liberal vs. conservative arguments, as I don’t think simplifying our nation as two distinct groups serves a valid purpose. But the latest media scandal to rock those who pride themselves as conservatives is too tantalizing to simply ignore. First, we had Armstrong Williams quietly taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in government money to push the No Child Left Behind initiative on his televised broadcasts. Next came Maggie Gallagher’s admission that she was paid to promote Bush’s marriage initiative, though she insisted that contract didn’t influence her op/ed column. Sure it didn’t, Maggie. This time around the exposed conservative sycophant in question is Jeff Gannon. Or should I say James Guckert? For all intense purposes, I’ll refer to him as Gannon.

Gannon resigned this week from his position in the elite White House press corps. An Associated Press article suggested that his resignation was fueled by a recent “pointed” conservative question for President Bush. It also hinted at his link to several gay pornography websites. The real news story is not what the Associated Press said, but rather what they left out.

First and foremost, online bloggers are to thank for exposing this entire scandal. The White House failed to realize Gannon was using a phony name as it gave him top access, and corporate media journalists seemed to turn the other cheek while this shady character was sitting in their midst. Yet a few observant bloggers on the website DailyKos persevered in their online Mystery Machine and ultimately exposed Gannon as a fraud.

A number of troubling questions emerge with this latest exposé. The most troubling involves the criteria for obtaining a White House press pass. Journalists are eligible for ‘hard passes’ or ‘daily passes’, and the decision is ultimately based on whether the news outlet they serve is deemed a valid one. In Gannon’s case, he worked for a website called Talonnews.com. A Texas Republican allegedly operates the site, and there is no evidence it is valid news source. Most of its articles are copy/pasted from other sites, and even then it doesn’t bother attributing credit where credit is due.

Gannon insists that he applied for daily press passes with his driver’s license and he never had to reveal his real name. Hmmm…. I was not aware that it was legal to obtain a driver’s license under a bogus name. Hopefully Gannon can clear this up at a future date. I would hope the Office of Homeland Security would want clarification on this matter, too!! I also hope Gannon will also address concerns by another White House correspondent, Dana Milbank, who insisted on Keith Olbermann’s MSNBC program that Gannon’s press pass appeared to be the permanent ‘hard pass’ variety complete with photo identification. That suggests the White House knew he was a fraud but allowed him to participate anyway.

Another most fascinating question that has arisen from the Gannon scandal involves the question of who is or isn’t a journalist. Gannon’s website no longer portrays his ‘bragging right’ as being a graduate of the Leadership Institute Broadcast School of Journalism, but others have archived his ‘meticulous academic record’. What’s wrong with Gannon’s story? Listen closely.

The Leadership Institute is a conservative tax-exempt organization operated by Morton Blackwell since 1979. The ‘journalism’ school Gannon graduated from is a two-day, $50 conservative workshop that promises its students the following:

·Learn how to find good internships and make the most of them ·Gain networking skills to help you land your job and increase your effectiveness ·Develop a top-notch resume and learn how to make yourself stand out in an interview ·Learn a proven, step-by-step job hunting strategy and much more

Interestingly, the Leadership Institute asks its potential customers if they know what Larry King, Barbara Walters, Peter Jennings, and Bill Clinton all have in common. Besides the fact that all 4 have been on television, there is no common similarity. Walters has an English degree and is known to make people cry during interviews. Jennings has been in broadcast since he was 9 years old and is an anchorman. Clinton has NO journalistic experience. And Larry King has years of broadcast experience but is still no more credible than Oprah or Dr. Phil when it comes to hard news. Does the Leadership Institute think that appearing on television is a worthy commonality to peddle its broadcast journalism program???

The media placement and recruitment coordinator for the institute is Denise Chaykun. Chaykun is a recent graduate of Bucknell University, and her majors were history and psychology. How does a recent history and psychology graduate now qualify as a media expert who can recruit and place people in the field of journalism?

Does a two-day workshop really make someone a viable contender for a journalism job these days? There is hard news and there is soft news. There are feature stories, op/ed articles, sports spreads, and hard news. That anyone, especially through an admitted program that does little to hide its biased slant, could think that he/she could learn the ropes of journalism in two days seems to show how some conservatives prefer sharing their opinions instead of disseminating factual information per the media.

The same organization claims it can teach people how to write like Congressional champions in a single day. It promises to “take you to the top and teach you the writing skills every Chief-of-Staff demands.” As an English instructor, I’m not sure whether I should be alarmed by this organization’s claim or by the possibility that Congressional writing is so substandard it can be learned in a day.

I must admit, I’m a bit curious about the Leadership Institute’s Internet activism workshop that claims it can teach its students the ropes of “guerilla Internet activism.” I’ll overlook the typo of the word “guerrilla” because I’m more interested in knowing the definition of guerrilla Internet activism. The term “guerrilla” conjures up notions of warfare, yet I’m not quite sure why a tax-exempt, non-profit organization would be doing that.

The last question to be raised is the bombshell that Gannon was questioned for his role in the Valerie Plame/CIA media leak investigation. How did a $50 ‘journalist’ manage to get his hands on such sensitive information? And when he testified during a federal grand jury, which of his names did he use?

It is only after these questions are thoroughly answered that I might be able to fathom how certain conservative circles are touting their moral values as righteous compared to the ones I know.

Over sixty Californians are members of the Council for National Policy (CNP) and nowhere in the country have CNP members been more politically active and spent more money than in California. Since 1988, many of these members have assumed a very active lea dership and generous financial role in a variety of ideological causes moving the California Republican Party into the ranks of the Radical Religious Right.

One of the most influential CNP members no longer lives in California, but his long shadow reaches from the Rocky Mountains to the Sierras. James Dobson, formerly of Pomona, now presides over his Focus on the Family (FOF) empire from Colorado Springs.

According to a November 26, 1995 article in The Los Angeles Times, California state Senator Rob Hurtt Jr. came under the influence of Dobson in the early 80s. Hurtt, in turn, helped bring together a group of men who have built a formidable political machine by spending over $8,000,000 from their own pockets to change the face of California politics. All are members of the CNP. This group of men now consists of:

Howard Ahmanson Jr., the heir to the Home Savings fortune, chair of the California Independent Business PAC, successor to the Allied Business PAC, 20+-year trustee of R. J. Rushdoony's Chalcedon, board member of the Claremont Institute, and deep-pocket political campaign contributor. In a 1985 Orange County Register interview, Ahmanson stated he wanted to dedicate his fortune to see that we had Biblical law integrated into our everyday lives.
Roland Hinz, owner of Daisy/HiTorque Publications, publishers of Dirt Bike and Motocross magazines. His wife, Lila, has served on the board of directors of Paul Weyrich's National Empowerment TV.
Edward G. Atsinger III, owner of 29 commercial Christian radio stations, graduate of Bob Jones University, and board member of the National Religious Broadcasters Association.
Richard A. Riddle, owner of I. W. Walker, a box manufacturing company and a partner in Richray Industries, an import-export company which does a lot of business with South Korea, and a graduate of Bob Jones University.

The group has gone through several name changes. It started out as the Capitol Commonwealth Group which became the Allied Business PAC which in turn has been reborn as the California Independent Business PAC. It has helped to elect over one-fourth of the 120 members of the California legislature.

Because of California political campaign laws, Sen. Hurtt has been forced to drop out of the California Independent Business PAC. However, that did not keep him from spending almost $2,000,000 on political campaigns in 1994.

In 1987, Hurtt, Ahmanson, and CNP member Preston Hawkins, a developer, founded the
Capitol Resource Institute (CRI) in Sacramento as a public-policy organization affiliated with Focus on the Family (FOF). Since CRI's founding, Hurt and Ahmanson have provi ded over 75% of the annual budget.

With a small staff, CRI conducts a multitude of activities such as lobbying the legislature on behalf of Hurtt and FOF, publishing at least two monthly newsletters, conducting daily and weekly radio programs (mostly on Atsinger's radio stations), providin g voters' guides, and presenting Community Impact Committee seminars.
Ahmanson's megabucks also provide support for such organizations as the Western Center for Law and Religious Freedom, the Reason Foundation, the Claremont Institute, the Heritage Foundation, the California Prolife Council, and Chalcedon, Inc.
In 1994, the men supported a failed school-voucher initiative by providing over $450,000. According to a Common Cause report, in 1994 they were responsible for almost 10% of all the money donated to the California Republican Party.

Another CNP member is assemblywoman Barbara Alby, an ally of former state senator H. L. (Bill) Richardson, a long-time Christian Reconstructionist activist. Assemblyman Howard Kaloogian of San Diego County is a new member. Former assemblyman Patrick Nolan is still listed in the 1995 CNP phone directory as a member, although he is presently a resident of a federal correctional facility. Nolan pleaded no contest to political corruption charges. Christian Reconstructionist guru R.J. Rushdoony has been listed as a member for many years, although he claims he hasn't been to a meeting in years and doesn't know who pays his annual membership fees. Update: In the interest of moving the conversation off the title, and so people can send this as a link without worrying about being labeled anti-semetic, I've changed the title. I appreciate all those who defended my original title, but I'd like the focus kept on the information presented and what we can do to counter the influence of this group.

Many Evangelical, Pentecostal, Charismatic, Catholic, Mormon and other ecumenically-minded leaders are members of the Council for National Policy, the 500+ member organization which plans the strategy of the Religious Right in the United States.

The CNP, according to their 1996 Telephone Directory, was founded in 1981. While those involved are from the United States, their organizations and influence cover the globe, both religiously and politically. Members include corporate executives, television evangelists, legislators, former military or high ranking government officers, leaders of 'think tanks' dedicated to molding society and those who many view as Christian leadership. Members in many cases are owners or leaders from industry such as lumber, oil, mining, commodities, real estate, the media, including owners of radio, television and print, with all aspects of life covered. Many are involved in education, determining to influence society's direction by direct input with children and youth.

While this information includes members of the CNP, this is not to say that liberal political figures are excluded from the assessment of having "a heart of desperately wicked and deceitful above all things." No one is precluded. However, the CNP members are overtly "Christian" which is used as a cover to deceive the gullible. They have the "form of godliness" and are somewhat "ministers of righteousness", but deny the true power thereof by a carefully contrived doctrine which assiduously avoids the Scriptures which would expose their works that they are evil. Through their propaganda, they provoke visceral reactions from Christians to fight, become angry, to get involved in the political arena, to join and support their organizations through many monetary contributions which makes "merchandise of the saints."

Most people in the outside world do not explicitly believe we are passing through a period of constitutional crisis. That an impeachment was run over a blow job didn't clue them in. That a president was installed by judicial fiat did not clue them in. That a war was launched which is, and was, essentially a giant looting expedition on the Treasury has not clued them in.

So what is going on? What is the thread that unifies Iraq and Social Security, the election crisis of 2000?

The process of American Constitutional change, and according to that process, the greatest dangers lie ahead, not behind us.

I. Mandate. Meaning. Money.

A constitutional order has three parts: mandate - what the government should do - and meaning - how the public views the role of its duties, rights and options in relationship to the government. These are tied together by mechanism - how the government functions. In American history, and to no small extent world history, the most important mechanism is money. Not in the sense of who gets money - but in the sense of how money works. Each of these three parts of government are often written about, but how they interact is usually handled poorly - because generally an author knows one well, details it quite clearly, and then tries to apply the thesis of one to the others. The situation is more complex - each interacts with the others, and the process of bringing all of them into harmony is not immediate, it does not lend it self to nice clear lines of demarcation.

But a new constitutional order must get all three in sync - people must expect of a government what it can accomplish through handling mechanisms, and through motivating meaning.

Money is the key lens of an American constitutional order, because it is the one part of that order that must work every single day. Money is the constitution that you carry with you, the government backs its functioning.

Scott Ritter, appearing with journalist Dahr Jamail yesterday in Washington State, dropped two shocking bombshells in a talk delivered to a packed house in Olympia’s Capitol Theater. The ex-Marine turned UNSCOM weapons inspector said that George W. Bush has "signed off" on plans to bomb Iran in June 2005, and claimed the U.S. manipulated the results of the recent Jan. 30 elections in Iraq.

Olympians like to call the Capitol Theater "historic," but it's doubtful whether the eighty-year-old edifice has ever been the scene of more portentous revelations.

The principal theme of Scott Ritter's talk was Americans’ duty to protect the U.S. Constitution by taking action to bring an end to the illegal war in Iraq. But in passing, the former UNSCOM weapons inspector stunned his listeners with two pronouncements. Ritter said plans for a June attack on Iran have been submitted to President George W. Bush, and that the president has approved them. He also asserted that knowledgeable sources say U.S. officials "cooked" the results of the Jan. 30 elections in Iraq.

On Iran, Ritter said that President George W. Bush has received and signed off on orders for an aerial attack on Iran planned for June 2005. Its purported goal is the destruction of Iran’s alleged program to develop nuclear weapons, but Ritter said neoconservatives in the administration also expected that the attack would set in motion a chain of events leading to regime change in the oil-rich nation of 70 million -- a possibility Ritter regards with the greatest skepticism.

The former Marine also said that the Jan. 30 elections, which George W. Bush has called "a turning point in the history of Iraq, a milestone in the advance of freedom," were not so free after all. Ritter said that U.S. authorities in Iraq had manipulated the results in order to reduce the percentage of the vote received by the United Iraqi Alliance from 56% to 48%.

Asked by UFPPC's Ted Nation about this shocker, Ritter said an official involved in the manipulation was the source, and that this would soon be reported by a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist in a major metropolitan magazine -- an obvious allusion to New Yorker reporter Seymour M. Hersh.

On Jan. 17, the New Yorker posted an article by Hersh entitled The Coming Wars (New Yorker, January 24-31, 2005). In it, the well-known investigative journalist claimed that for the Bush administration, "The next strategic target [is] Iran." Hersh also reported that "The Administration has been conducting secret reconnaissance missions
inside Iran at least since last summer." According to Hersh, "Defense Department civilians, under the leadership of Douglas Feith, have been working with Israeli planners and consultants to develop and refine potential nuclear, chemical-weapons, and missile targets inside Iran. . . . Strategists at the headquarters of the U.S. Central Command, in Tampa, Florida, have been asked to revise the military’s war plan, providing for a maximum ground and air invasion of Iran. . . . The hawks in the Administration believe that it will soon become clear that the Europeans’ negotiated approach [to Iran] cannot succeed, and that at that time the Administration will act."

Scott Ritter said that although the peace movement failed to stop the war in Iraq, it had a chance to stop the expansion of the war to other nations like Iran and Syria. He held up the specter of a day when the Iraq war might be remembered as a relatively minor event that preceded an even greater conflagration.

Scott Ritter's talk was the culmination of a long evening devoted to discussion of Iraq and U.S. foreign policy. Before Ritter spoke, Dahr Jamail narrated a slide show on Iraq focusing on Fallujah. He showed more than a hundred vivid photographs taken in Iraq, mostly by himself. Many of them showed the horrific slaughter of civilians.

Dahr Jamail argued that U.S. mainstream media sources are complicit in the war and help sustain support for it by deliberately downplaying the truth about the devastation and death it is causing.

Jamail was, until recently, one of the few unembedded journalists in Iraq and one of the only independent ones. His reports have gained a substantial following and are available online at dahrjamailiraq.com.

Puff the Magic Lantern

Virus Invasion

Badtrans is the name of the virus that is making the rounds currently and grinding email servers to a halt worldwide. There is much speculation by respectable theorists that this may be the much-talked about keylogging virus the FBI is threatening to release on the public known by the name Magic Lantern. Operationally, it fits the profile, logging keystrokes to a temp-file and when the temp-file reaches a certain size, mailing the log file to a pre-specified recipient. The Badtrans virus has had a couple modifications made to it over the last couple weeks, making it's transmission and operations more smooth, and therefore more infections and effective, however it is reported that most commercially available anti-virus software still picks it up prior to infection.

The new version of the Badtrans virus activates embedded HTML in the email and automatically informs Microsoft email programs to activate the attached virus program. The virus also appears to activate the MP3 player.

There are three scenarios within possibility which would explain the origin of the Badtrans virus. The first, most obvious, and most widely accepted is that it is a simple keylogging virus put out by a random hacker to get user's usernames and passwords. The second theory is more of an addendum to the first, in that it's a virus putout by a random hacker at this time to try to create a buzz and make it look as if the FBI is targeting certain groups or demographics (this theory has been posited by many members of the OSINT group RM News). The third theory is that this is in fact the second iteration of the Magic Lantern keylogger.

The first theory is supported by the simple fact that this sort of thing comes out on a fairly regular basis, and to assume that this virus is any different than the last 15 that have come out is pure conjecture --at least at first glance. The third theory is supported by the plethora of news releases that has accompanied the virus's release that tell of the FBI's Magic Lantern keylogger's inner workings. The operations are very similar in description, and a mass release through worm form is an effective means of distribution, despite the preferred method of delivery is reportedly the newly allowed "sneak and peek" method --however, distribution through an email virus does seem to be a bit unconventional, a bit of a kludge-type attack. Granted, the FBI's technology teams have proven somewhat clueless as to implementation of internet technologies in the past, but this tends to lack the type of precision the FBI needs, and seems like it could lead to the type of legal trouble the FBI could ill-afford.

All of this lends the most credence to the second theory, that it is most likely being used as an Infowar tool, to make individuals feel as if they are being singled out by the FBI or other government agencies since most virus detection systems alert the user of it and mention it's purpose. It may have originally started out as the tool mentioned in theory one, but it has quickly become the tool mentioned in theory two.

Step three: getting the word out to people who matter, people of power. Conyers, Arnebeck, Cobb, etc

Step four: work with these people to find ways of crippling the Fellowship. This should include analyzing the government policies that allowed this coup to occur, such as partisan election officials and election companies (using proprietary software), corporate degregulation (media, oil, etc), corporate "personhood", zero
enforcement of the tax-exempt status of these organizations/evangelical organizations in general, closed-door policy meetings, etc.

Step five: eradicate the Fellowship and fascism. Probably not going to happen but we should aim high anyway. Aiming high is what got the felloship into power in the first place.

Step six: party like there's no tomorrow, because they may not be one
once you get there.

Taking down the Entity called The Fourth Reich

Known to many across many denominations and cultures as different names, such as the Brotherhood of all, the Order, Opus-Dei La Malta and the Supreme dominionists this in-escapable foe is beyond all foes the world has seen before. Closest resemblence to Hitler's Nazi dynasty in 1921, the brothers and sisters of this group are sinister and deadly. For now it shall be called Opus Dei Malta, a selection of over 200 Opus-Dei and Knights of Malta members brought together for one purpose through leaders like Syung Moon and Walker Bush: The unification of Christ's 1000 year reign. Opus Dei and Knights of Malta are all one and the same thing, this mafia order of the catholic church which has grown around the world since the supposed dissolvement of the illuminati and rockefeller's spoiled Bilderberg groups.

Today currently, there is only one real Bilderberg group and it is an arm of the Opus and Malta. If that little hint there didn't scare you, what I'm about to talk about will.

Opus-Dei Malta has three main arms of operation, all under familiar nicknames and color.

The Brotherhood also called Fellowship, also called its modern name, Council of National Policy. This is considered the central nervous system and core. This entity has been around as an omen for thousands of years, even before the restructuring of Knights ofMalta. Its mission has always been considered simple; the destruction of all races and creeds which are not in line with it.

The focus of this core group had great influence on the Catholic Church and their Nazi fascists to go hunt down every jesuit jew theycould find, as did a covert arm known as Knights Templar.

Back in the 1800s when Opus-Dei had very little power since it had technically not re-birthed yet, Knights Templar and other cults engaged in rituals that are now re-enacted at the Bohemian Grove. Today however, what remains of the Templar and other groups like The Finders, The Seekers and others have all been absorbed into the Catholic Church empire, Opus-Dei Malta and are not just for show.

They are for pure religious sacrafice and ritual run holocausts who if commanded, will kill on the spot. In this way their terrible reach is as volatile as Hitler and his Catholic Bishop. One of the most prominent members and not to mention dangerous, is BrotherJerry Falwell.

At first you may think not much of him. But this man Falwell has led fundamentalists on crusades through-out the 90s, that would make some of the most hardened christians cringe. One time he literally struck a man down off the stage with the "healing power of god himself" as he shouted out to the television. Falwell is obsessed with fine jewelry. Now a news anchor on CNN, Falwell has an almost daily unlimited reach to Senators and other like minded pawns.

Falwell got started with them shortly after the evangelicals like Dobson, Hunt, and Voinovich began meeting with Richard DeVos who is the puppet president for this group. Not to be outdone, other members like Rick Santorum, Antoine Scalia and of course Roy Blunt and Clarence Thomas all take pride in completing rituals for god which would make most mothers cry.

Herbert Walker Bush who leads his team by pulling strings behind the scenes, also can control what The Finders and other cults would do. He uses them to abuse children when its in god's interest, creates special drugs to put future converts under control and more. This is called the MK-Ultra plan, and it is part of his most sickening mad scientist scheme yet. Mind control by CIA created "drugs" that are used for one purpose :subversion.

Hiding behind the puppet of Walker Bush is his late father, H.Prescott Bush. To think that none of the Bush family would become so evil if it wasn't for this man is quite shocking. H. Prescott Bush fell to the "darkside" back in 1920, when he officially asked Leo Strauss, to help him start removing the powers that be. He and the other fascist sympathizers did not want Franklin Roosevelt in charge because of....certain investments. Also known in history as Standard Oil, the largest oil firm in the world, H. Prescott Bush traded more than 70 million worth with the Nazis all by himself and wanted fascists to start a new religious order free of jews. Leo Strauss, took care of the other entanglements.

Leo Strauss a fascist by birth had to flee germany. The second arm of the government, was created by one single man, this is known as the global reach which Opus Dei Malta has under its control. This is known as the Council of Foreign Relations. Strauss wanted to create this to basically have a secret order offascists which could become religious dictators.

Out of this the Catholic Church overtook all of them and began to be passed through history as one by one, men and women turned to the order of Opus. Strauss unknowingly played as a pawn for Prescott Bush, who then was able to use fascist senators to overthrow Roosevelt.

Finally it was coming into place, Bush would now retain control over 23 companies that were siezed from the Nazis when he was tried for high treason. Later on, these companies, and their fathers like Richard DeVos would become an entire empire of red blooded businesses. Prescott of course passed on his ritualistic ways to his son H. W.Bush who then passed it down the line even further.

By this time, a group of Nazi sympathizers were controlling the Council of Foreign Relations. What the books did not say, and what only certain records are able to indicate to us now, is that the de-nazification program failed alltogether thanks to the Catholic Church. In fact, the rising Opus-Dei Malta made certain Nazis stayed in charge. It was a travesty to a once well made structure. Council ofForeign Relations today is now controlled by several red blooded fascists who are controlled by the Opus. What a pleasing thought.

George Voinovich, Governor of Ohio, happens to be a high ranking member. He is one of the second in the line of Malta and controls most of the CFR with just a little help. Good old Voinovich would be rotting in a cell today if he did not have his Opus Malta friends close by to save his neck. Then there happens to be the third arm of this Order of the damned.

While smaller in size and scope, it is no less deadly. This is the only arm Nelson Hunt, Duane Claridge, Adnan Khashoggi and other good old boys are really interested in. The profiteering side of the order. Known as the NWO: New World Order, also called PNAC, there is no end to its reach. After seizing those 23 original companies,Wolfowitz and the other presidents now control Union Bank, Chase Bank, EXXON Mobil, Halliburton, Shell Oil, every other major democratic or republican business sans a few and of course Cybernet Global which is owned by Barton Watson (now dead).

In other terms it also is merged with most right-wing zealot networks including Reverend Moon's Unification Church and the Christian Voice and so forth. With such corporate reach, its almost impossible to attack from the direct front.

What I have established here is now a three folded walking dynasty:

The Fellowship/Brotherhood/Council of National Policy- Its Central Nervous System

The Council of Foreign Relations- Its dispicable right arm

The New World Order- Its deplorable left arm

Taking down one or the other of the arms means a new tentacle will simply grow in its place, meaning the beast will never die. Therefore, the only real way to effectively take down the Fourth Reich is to attack its central core- The CNP... However being able to damage it will require lowered defenses, and that will be a very hard issue to adress.

The actual quickest way may be to attack its left arm, the NWO, and trap someone like Khashoggi red handed thus making a well known arrest. That would force news networks to pay attention big time, and then from there, attack the core and go after the CNP.

If the Core is destroyed, the Fourth Reich will never be able to rise again. But if it is sustained, it will continue to live and grow like a virus. I look at it from the big picture and taking down the small pieces, like Triad and so on, would expose the core for direct assault so I'm thinking of working primarily on that.

Calling a Summit of Fraud '04 Researchers

I'm calling a summit of leaders of the various groups researching Fraud '04 in the hopes that we can agree on some open standards. I want us to discuss with the leaders of the other research groups how we can resolve conflicts between our groups, and put things on a productive level. I want to discuss open standards for our groups so that we agree on how we go about researching (including ethics standards), vetting group members, vetting information, how we publish, how we protect our members, how we discipline our members, how we issue corrections on things we publish, etc.

If we can some to agreements on these things it will improve our research product and hence our credibility. Let's do it!

The New York Times killed a story that could have changed the election—because it could have changed the election

In the weeks leading up to the November 2 election, the New York Times was abuzz with excitement. Besides the election itself, the paper’s reporters were hard at work on two hot investigative projects, each of which could have a major impact on the outcome of the tight presidential race.

One week before Election Day, the Times (10/25/04) ran a hard-hitting and controversial exposé of the Al-Qaqaa ammunition dump—identified by U.N. inspectors before the war as containing 400 tons of special high-density explosives useful for aircraft bombings and as triggers for nuclear devices, but left unguarded and available to insurgents by U.S. forces after the invasion.

On Thursday, just three days after that first exposé, the paper was set to run a second, perhaps more explosive piece, exposing how George W. Bush had worn an electronic cueing device in his ear and probably cheated during the presidential debates.

The Bulge

It's clear even from unenhanced photos that George W. Bush has been wearing some kind of object under his clothing, both during the debates and at other public appearances. The enhancements done by NASA scientist Robert Nelson show a rectangular object with a long "tail"; in some shots a wire leading over Bush's shoulder is visible. This configuration closely resembles a PTT (Push To Talk) receiver with an induction earpiece, a device used by some actors, newscasters and politicians to allow for inaudible voice communication in a public setting. The particular model pictured here (which does not appear to be the exact type Bush wore) was manufactured by Resistance Technology, Inc. of Arden Hills, Minn.

The so-called Bulgegate story had been getting tremendous attention on the Internet. Stories about it had also run in many mainstream papers, including the New York Times (10/9/04, 10/18/04) and Washington Post (10/9/04), but most of these had been light-hearted. Indeed, the issue had even made it into the comedy circuit, including the monologues of Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jon Stewart and a set of strips by cartoonist Garry Trudeau.

That the story hadn’t gotten more serious treatment in the mainstream press was largely thanks to a well-organized media effort by the Bush White House and the Bush/Cheney campaign to label those who attempted to investigate the bulge as "conspiracy buffs" (Washington Post, 10/9/04). In an era of pinched budgets and an equally pinched notion of the role of the Fourth Estate, the fact that the Kerry camp was offering no comment on the matter—perhaps for fear of earning a "conspiracy buff" label for the candidate himself—may also have made reporters skittish. Jeffrey Klein, a founding editor of Mother Jones magazine, told Mother Jones (online edition, 10/30/04) he had called a number of contacts at leading news organizations across the country, and was told that unless the Kerry campaign raised the issue, they couldn’t pursue it.

As a front page story, a prestigious panel of
journalists judged HAARP to be in the top ten
under-reported news stories of 1994 and was included
in a book titled Project Censored. Only recently, has

True or false, the notion that a bunch of SDI spooks
were building an Alaskan doom machine made HAARP the

and Weather Warfare Weapon

Changing Statements About Power Levels

At the legislative hearing, HAARP employees focused on HAARP's current power levels, while the researchers on the other side of the controversy focused attention on the direction in which the power levels for the project are heading.

Has the military decided to downsize this current program they call HAARP because of public attention to it? At the legislative hearing, a representative of the military said the current developmental prototype of HAARP is capable of 3.6 kilowatts of radiated power. The full scale prototype will provide up to ten times that, or about 3,600 kilowatts, he said.

Dr. Patrick Flanagan noted that "the power levels described by Dr. Hecksher aren't consistent with a statement he made on a TV show (Sightings). When he was interviewed, (Dr. Hecksher) said the HAARP system can punch holes through the ionosphere and these holes would heal shortly after a HAARP system was turned off."

To punch a hole through the ionosphere would take more than the alleged 3,600 kilowatts, Dr. Flanagan indicated. He did mention, however, that there was another disturbing possibility: the "maser amplification of the HAARP energy. For example, if HAARP is applying 3,600 kilowatts to the ionosphere, there's a possibility of what is called maser amplification of that energy by charged particles in the ionosphere...the energy is powered by the energy from the sun. So that these charged particles in the ionosphere can be caused to mase... So that puts out more energy than HAARP is putting in."

What do the military planners have in mind? Technical Memorandum 195, an unpublished 613-page compilation concerning the HAARP Workshop on Ionospheric Heating Diagnostics, (held in 1991 at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts) includes this piece of information: the desired level of power for HAARP is 100 billion watts, vastly greater than what the military is now claiming as a goal. Other documents from the military were openly published and refer to power levels between one and ten gigawatts (billion watts).

Whatever the eventual power level it does not take much power bouncing back to the surface of the earth to affect living organisms. Dr. Nick Begich also told the State Affairs Committee about a substantial amount of science literature on the topic that has been published as recently as the early 1990s. The findings suggest that lower levels of energy (lower than previously believed) can affect human physiology. These studies are the most significant aspect of what has not been properly disclosed by those responsible for the HAARP project's safety, he testified. The project began when the debate over effects of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation was still in its infancy. Since then, many scientists have come to the conclusion that lower energy densities, when pulsed in the right frequency range, will have profound health effects.

Alaska Lawmakers Hear Scientists' Concerns

One of the experts who testified at the State Affairs Committee hearing was Richard Williams of Princeton, New Jersey. He has a doctorate degree in physical chemistry from Harvard University and worked for 30 years as an industrial scientist in solid state electronics, electronics, structure of clouds, water evaporation and other environmental problems. Dr. Williams is an independent scientist; he's not dependent on funding from the military. This lends him a degree of independent judgment which compels us to quote him at length:

"I want to alert the legislature to an activity now going on in Alaska that, in addition to any local effect, might become a global threat to the atmosphere. That is HAARP. The initial experiment, as Mr.(project manager John) Hecksher said, will be done using modest power levels and are not a cause for concern. However, the project's internal documents indicate that plans include the eventual use of power levels up to ten billion watts. This is an enormous power level, more than 200 times the total electrical power level used by the city of Juneau. There could be a serious impact in the atmosphere that might result from energies of this magnitude. Effects might include drastic alteration of the thermal, refractive, scattering and emission character of the atmosphere over a wide range of the electromagnetic spectrum."

"Experiments at this power level would produce large changes in the concentration of charged particles in the ionosphere that would persist for some time and might even lead to permanent changes."

Dr. Williams told the committee that he is a supporter of the armed forces, but as a scientist he wanted to explain how "unintended consequences of innocent and beneficial human activities can cause serious changes on a global scale".

We introduced two examples of activities earlier this century which caused unintentional and serious changes in the atmosphere, with effects worldwide. The first example he cited was the growing concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. "What we don't know yet is how this will affect the delicate balance of life on earth."

The second unintended change that he cited is damage to the ozone layer, that shields us from harmful ultraviolet radiation. "In neither of these examples would an Environmental Impact Statement have identified the problem in time. Do we have any way to judge what (HAARP's) energy can do to the upper atmosphere?"

Individual members of the European Parliament are among the growing number of people worldwide who have been startled to hear about HAARP. Voices expressing various levels of concern are being heard in many countries. For example, in contrast with the cautiously-worded comment of Dr. Bertell, a Germany-based researcher in the field of quantum electrodynamics, Al Zielinski, paints an apocalyptic word-picture. (He says HAARP technology could trigger a disaster with a global impact - electromagnetic waves causing destruction "when interacting with protective layers of the earth and its gravitational field".)

Bubble Of Electric Particles

Angels Don't Play This HAARP includes interviews with independent scientists such as Elizabeth Rauscher. She has a Ph.D., a long and impressive career in high-energy physics, and has been published in prestigious science journals and books. Rauscher commented on HAARP. "You're pumping tremendous energy into an extremely delicate molecular configuration that comprises these multi-layers we call the ionosphere." The ionosphere is prone to catalytic reactions, she explained; if a small part is changed, a major change in the ionosphere can happen.

In describing the ionosphere as a delicately balanced system, Dr. Rauscher shared her mental picture of it -- a soap-bubble-like sphere surrounding Earth's atmosphere, with movements swirling over the surface of the bubble. If a big enough hole is punched through it, she predicts, it could pop.

Slicing The Ionosphere

David Yarrow of Albany, New York, is a researcher with a background in electronics. He described possible interactions of HAARP radiations with the ionosphere and Earth's magnetic grid:

"HAARP will not burn 'holes' in the ionosphere. That is a dangerous understatement of what HAARP's giant gigawatt beam will do. Earth is spinning relative to thin electric shells of the multilayer membrane of 'ion-o-speres' that absorb and shield Earth's surface from intense solar radiation, including charged particle storms in solar winds erupting from the sun. Earth's axial spin means that HAARP -- in a burst lasting more than a few minutes -- will slice through the ionosphere like a microwave knife. This produces not a 'hole', but a long tear -- an incision."

Among other researchers quoted is Paul Schaefer of Kansas City. His degree is in electrical engineering and he spent four years building nuclear weapons. "But most of the theories that we have been taught by scientists to believe in seem to be falling apart," he says.

He talks about imbalances already caused by the industrial and atomic age, especially by radiation of large numbers of tiny, high-velocity particles "like very small spinning tops into our environment. The unnatural level of motion of highly-energetic particles in the atmosphere and in radiation belts surrounding Earth is the villain in the weather disruptions, according to this model, which describes an Earth discharging its buildup of heat, relieving stress and regaining a balanced condition through earthquakes and volcanic action.

'Feverish' Earth

"One might compare the abnormal energetic state of the Earth and its atmosphere to a car battery which has become overcharged with the normal flow of energy jammed up, resulting in hot spots, electrical arcing, physical cracks and general turbulence as the pent-up energy tries to find some place to go."

In a second analogy, Schaefer says "Unless we desire the death of our planet, we must end the production of unstable particles which are generating the earth's fever. A first priority to prevent this disaster would be to shut down all nuclear power plants and end the testing of atomic weapons, electronic warfare and 'Star Wars'."

Meanwhile, the military builds its biggest ionospheric heater yet, to deliberately create more instabilities in a huge plasma layer -- the ionosphere -- and to rev up the energy level of charged particles.

40 Years Of Zapping The Sky?

As far back as 1958, the chief White House advisor on weather modification, Captain Howard T. Orville, said the U.S. defense department was studying "ways to manipulate the charges of the earth and sky and so affect the weather" by using an electronic beam to ionize or de-ionize the atmosphere over a given area.

In 1966, Professor Gordon J. F. MacDonald was associate director of the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics at the University of California, Los Angeles, was a member of the President's Science Advisory Committee, and later a member of the President's Council on Environmental Quality. He published papers on the use of environmental-control technologies for military purposes. MacDonald made a revealing comment:

"The key to geophysical warfare is the identification of environmental instabilities to which the addition of a small amount of energy would release vastly greater amounts of energy."

World-recognized scientist MacDonald had a number of ideas for using the environment as a weapon system and he contributed to what was, at the time, the dream of a futurist. When he wrote his chapter, "How To Wreck The Environment", for the book Unless Peace Comes, he was not kidding around. In it he describes the use of weather manipulation, climate modification, polar ice cap melting or destabilization, ozone depletion techniques, earthquake engineering, ocean wave control and brain wave manipulation using the planet's energy fields. He also said that these types of weapons would be developed and, when used, would be virtually undetectable by their victims. Is HAARP that weapon? The military's intention to do environmental engineering is well documented.

What about HAARP? Energy blasted upward from an ionospheric heater is not much compared to the total in the ionosphere, but HAARP documents admit that thousandfold-greater amounts of energy can be released in the ionosphere than injected. As with MacDonald's "key to geophysical warfare", "nonlinear" effects (described in the literature about the ionospheric heater) mean small input and large output. Astrophysicist Adam Trombly told Manning that an acupuncture model is one way to look at the possible effect of multi-gigawatt pulsing of the ionosphere. If HAARP hits certain points , those parts of the ionosphere could react in surprising ways.

Smaller ionospheric heaters such as the one at Arecibo are underneath relatively placid regions of the ionosphere, compared to the dynamic movements nearer Earth's magnetic poles. That adds another uncertainty to HAARP - the unpredictable and lively upper atmosphere near the North Pole.

HAARP experimenters do not impress common sense Alaskans such as Barbara Zickuhr, who says "They're like boys playing with a sharp stick, finding a sleeping bear and poking it in the butt to see what's going to happen."

Dr. Begich wanted the discussion to focus on the unique features of HAARP technology, not merely on power levels transmitted from the ground. The significant feature which distinguishes HAARP from other ionospheric heater projects operating around the world is the focusing capability of this particular design. The ability to focus radio-frequency energy into a narrow beam and to steer that beam gives it a powerful advantage in "perturbing the ionosphere".

Dr. Siun Akasofu, head of the University of Alaska's Geophysical Institute, argued that speaking about the focusing is misleading and that even if the radio-frequency beam is focused, "...the amount of energy going into the ionosphere is so little that you cannot see any light coming from the ionosphere. One of most sensitive instruments in the world cannot see it. On the other hand, look at the aurora; you can see it with your naked eye." (We experienced Dr. Akasofu's statement as being strange, because the scientific literature on ionospheric heaters is full of references to "enhanced airglow" from the experiments.)

Dr. Begich and Dr. Flanagan asked the committee to look at the absence of independent biological scientists and people with backgrounds in electrophysiology, in the think tanks where HAARP-type experiments are hatched. People with those backgrounds are also concerned, he said, that using a tool for disturbing the ionosphere is not a decision that should be made only by the United States; it's a global issue.

Alaska may acquire a defense shield in the form of an advanced HAARP-type technology, Dr. Begich noted. "But it has to be reviewed from a biological standpoint, not just a mechanical standpoint."

Franz Jagerstatter

Franz Jägerstätter was an Austrian Christian executed for his refusal to serve in the armies of the Third Reich. He was born out of wedlock in 1907 in the small town of St. Radegund. His natural father was killed in World War I. His mother married Herr Jagerstatter, a small farmer, who adopted Franz. After gaining a reputation as a rather wild young man, perhaps fathering an illegitimate child, Franz married and settled-down to a typical peasant life.

He also became known for his opposition to the Nazi regime, casting the only local vote against the Anschluss (the annexation of Austria by Germany in March 1938), eschewing the local taverns and political argument, but typically responding "Pfui Hitler" when greeted by a "Heil." He also engaged in long discussions with his cousin, a J--'s Witness, having strong theological disagreements, but gaining great respect for the J--'s Witnesses' stand against service to Hitler.

His sacrifice was uniformly regarded as foolish by his neighbors, and his story almost forgotten, but for a book written by an American, Gordon Zahn, who heard of Jagerstatter when researching the subject of German Catholics' response to Hitler. This book, In Solitary Witness, influenced Daniel Ellsberg's decision to stand against the Vietnam War by bringing the Pentagon Papers to public attention. It is also the source for this report, and of the following quote, taken from one of Jagerstatter's last letters.

I first raised the issue over at DU after the Tsunami disaster, because, in my experience and with all my research of the powers that be that are in control of the technology of wars, I number one do not trust anything that comes out of the mouth of Bush or his administration.

So when I seen this on the news I knew for a fact that most of what we watch on the TV which claims to be news is in fact not news but simply an infomercial a propaganda advertising tactic to sell some product. That product is usually a slogan a product or a political philosophy.

In other words never do the viewers get both sides of the story. For example, right after the disaster the major media had scientists on saying that the only way Tsunami's can occur is by natural events. But that is not exactly true, earthquakes can occur by natural and/ or man made events, is what the media should of said if they were really printing the news. Why? Because the government has been experimenting with weapons that can cause earthquakes, and drilling for oil and other things can cause earthquakes as well.

I primarily use Dr. Rosalie Bertell to prove that this is a genuine question, and in her article background on HAARP the way I understood it, she was describing a project that has a long history which eventually worked itself into the military arsenal via the Star wars program. The way I see it she describes the weapon of HARRP and how it can be used as a weapon in more detail in the following article about her called:

Dr. Bartell has also written a book specifically addressing the issue of HAARP as an environmental weapon in much more detail then simply saying what HAARP is in relation to the military-industrial-complex, because she wrote a 262 page book that describes how the earth itself can be used by weapons such as HAARP for polluting the environment and for ecological disasters.

Dr. Bartell whom I use as someone that I cite thinks that most of the major earthquakes that occurred in the past were more then likely man-made. I cite those in my other thread here.

I have a firm philosophy that believes that militarism is the cause of much of the global warming that we have in the world. Most want to just be critical of politicians and corporate America, and leave out the military from all this.

I usually define my own topics, and if that is so unacceptable to DU, Fox, PFC and the NY Times then I will have to decide not to use their services.

And by the way I went over and read some of the Freeper threads and they love the idea that Skinner censored the man-made Tsunami story.

Most of you are burning bridges in the name of liberalism and that is destructive to your cause that is sad. Because liberals and liberalism has been the primary forces that have won against the Repugs in the past, and my guess is they will be the only ones that will win against the repugs in the future.

The Military's Pandora's Box

Two Alaskans put it bluntly. A founder of the NO HAARP movement, Clare Zickuhr, says "The military is going to give the ionosphere a big kick and see what happens."

The military failed to tell the public that they do not know what exactly will happen, but a Penn State science article brags about that uncertainty. Macho science? The HAARP project uses the largest energy levels yet played with by what Begich and Manning call "the big boys with their new toys." HAARP is an experiment in the sky, and experiments are done to find out something not already known. Independent scientists told Begich and Manning that a HAARP-type "skybuster" with its unforeseen effects could be an act of global vandalism.

HAARP Boils the Upper Atmosphere

HAARP will zap the upper atmosphere with a focused and steerable electromagnetic beam. It is an advanced model of an "ionospheric heater." (The ionosphere is the electrically-charged sphere surrounding Earth's upper atmosphere. It ranges between 40 to 60 miles above the surface of the Earth.)

Press releases and other information from the military on HAARP continually downplay what it could do. Publicity documents insist that the HAARP project is no different than other ionospheric heaters operating safely throughout the world in places such as Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Tromso, Norway, and the former Soviet Union. However, a 1990 government document indicates that the radio-frequency (RF) power zap will drive the ionosphere to unnatural activities.

The military implications of combining these projects is alarming. Basic to this project is control of communications, both disruption and reliability in hostile environments. The power wielded by such control is obvious. The project is likely to be "sold" to the public as a space shield against incoming weapons, or , for the more gullible, a devise for repairing the ozone layer.

For example, earthquakes are known to interact with the ionosphere (the atmosphere 50-373 miles above the earth's surface). In fact, many of the earthquakes that occurred in recent years were preceded by certain unexplained phenomena, says Dr. Bertell.

Another method is the use of very low frequency electromagnetic waves in weather modification experiments. These waves can pass through solid earth and oceans and have been used by the military to probe the upper atmosphere and the inner structure of the earth.

These pulsed, extremely low frequency (ELF) waves, for instance, can be used to convey mechanical effects and vibrations at great distances through the Earth. They can manipulate the weather, creating storms and torrential rains over an area.

These waves have the potential to generate earth movements. 'It has the capability to cause disturbance of volcanoes and tectonic plates, which in turn, have an effect on the weather,' she states.

Some of the examples in her book include the Tang Shan earthquake in China, which occurred on 28 July 1976, and left 650,000 people dead. The catastrophic event was preceded by an airglow, said to have been caused by Soviet ELF wave experiments to heat the ionosphere.

The other was the San Francisco earthquake. According to Dr. Bertell, unusual ultra low frequency waves were detected in California on 12 September 1989. These waves grew in intensity and finally subsided on 5 October. On 17 October, they appeared again with signals so strong that they went off the scale. Three hours later, the earthquake took place.

In fact, a Washington Times report in March 1992 said, satellites and ground sensors detected mysterious radio waves or related electrical and magnetic activity before major earthquakes in Southern California, Armenia, Japan and Northern California between 1986 and 1989.

'These strange coincidences have never been explained ... it seems highly probable that some of these earthquakes have been a result of human activity, not natural forces,' said Dr. Bertell.

Dr. Flanagan has a doctorate in both medicine and physics and has experience in government weapons projects: he developed and sold a guided missile detector to the U.S. military when still a youth. Later he developed an electronic device for communication with the brain. Dr. Flanagan worked with a Pentagon think tank that was run by the former head of the Office of Scientific Research. He also developed speech encoding systems. He has worked for NASA, Tufts University, the Office of Naval Research, and at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds for the Department of Unconventional Weapons and Warfare.

The major portion of Dr. Flanagan's life work, however, has been on electromagnetic fields and their effects on living systems. In 1968 he turned his back on government-sponsored research, and since then has done independent research in his own laboratory.

A prolific inventor, Dr. Flanagan is credited with over 300 inventions.

Well if Science really was scientific perhaps the critics of my theory might have a point, but as far as I can see from my research the scientific community has been in short taken over by the non-scientifc community perhaps around 50 or more years ago.

The reasons, of how, why, when and where is the subject of another thread, but with respect to scientific research with respect to the atom, Ralph Lapp one of the original scientists that built the A Bomb with Teller basically said that the scientific community changed after the A Bomb was built in a way that the science community was rewarded to not do scientific research by the standards that were set up before the atomic bomb was built.

Ralph Lapp wrote a few books about how the scientific community was manipulated for non-scientific purposes by the military-industrial-complex generals. Ralph Lapp describes this in his books Kill and Overkill: The Strategy of Annihilation New York Basic Books, Inc. 1962 and in another Ralph Lapp book, The new priesthood; the scientific elite and the uses of power he says:

No one, not even the most brilliant scientist alive today, really knows where science is taking us today. We are aboard a train which is gathering speed, racing down a track on which there are an unknown number of destinations. No single scientist is in the engine cab and there may be demons at the switch. Most of society is in the caboose looking backward

I used excerpts from articles from a world renowned scientist such Dr. Bartell in this thread where she gives examples of how other major earthquakes in history were probably man-made because of HAARP I would assume, so I thought that the reader would just take the logical conclusion that perhaps the question could be asked such as... could it be possible for the Asia tsunami could possibly be man made as well?

Then I cited scientific excerpts to answer questions that I was asked on this thread. Scientists whom would have counterpoints that were raised in the questions to me such as HAARP does not have enough power to cause an earthquakes because it is only one gigawatt (billion watts) and therefore was to low of a power to cause an earthquake. The scientist or scientists that were called to testify by the Alaska legislature concerning HARRP said that getting in the one gigawatt (billion watts) or more range could possibly be a global threat to the atmosphere. Dr. Richard Williams:

Again from the article excerpts below I cited two scientists Dr. Flanagan and Dr. Richard Williams whom has a doctorate degree in physical chemistry from Harvard University. Dr. Flanagan describes how the HAARP project as it started was at the energy level of 3.6 kilowatts and that the full scale HAARP was projected to be at 3,600 kilowatts. When the second phase of HARRP kicked in it was estimated to achieve 4.7 billion watts. Dr. Begich,says that natural processes can amplify energy in certain frequencies 1,000 times when it reaches the outermost portions of the ionosphere. He warns of potential disaster at this point. And oh yes, one can just imagine.

A kilowatt (kW) is one thousand watts.
A megawatt (MW) is one million watts or one thousand kWs.
A gigawatt (GW) is one billion watts or one thousand MWs.

Has the military decided to downsize this current program they call HAARP because of public attention to it? At the legislative hearing, a representative of the military said the current developmental prototype of HAARP is capable of 3.6 kilowatts of radiated power. The full scale prototype will provide up to ten times that, or about 3,600 kilowatts, he said.

Dr. Patrick Flanagan noted that "the power levels described by Dr. Hecksher aren't consistent with a statement he made on a TV show (Sightings). When he was interviewed, (Dr. Hecksher) said the HAARP system can punch holes through the ionosphere and these holes would heal shortly after a HAARP system was turned off."

To punch a hole through the ionosphere would take more than the alleged 3,600 kilowatts, Dr. Flanagan indicated. He did mention, however, that there was another disturbing possibility: the "maser amplification of the HAARP energy. For example, if HAARP is applying 3,600 kilowatts to the ionosphere, there's a possibility of what is called maser amplification of that energy by charged particles in the ionosphere...the energy is powered by the energy from the sun. So that these charged particles in the ionosphere can be caused to mase... So that puts out more energy than HAARP is putting in."

What do the military planners have in mind? Technical Memorandum 195, an unpublished 613-page compilation concerning the HAARP Workshop on Ionospheric Heating Diagnostics, (held in 1991 at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts) includes this piece of information: the desired level of power for HAARP is 100 billion watts, vastly greater than what the military is now claiming as a goal. Other documents from the military were openly published and refer to power levels between one and ten gigawatts (billion watts).

The timing of this is nicely obvious, isn't it. According to the HAARP Update www.earthpulse.com/ ...the 1st phase of HAARP was meant to reach 1 billion watts of effective radiated power being directed at the ionosphere. The 2nd phase when completed was designed to achieve 4.7 billion watts. If that isn't bad enough, according to Dr. Begich, natural processes can amplify energy in certain frequencies 1,000 times when it reaches the outermost portions of the ionosphere. Note: I generally in my research like to cite both sides as much as possible, but so far I found no independent scientific articles that address HAARP as it not being possible to be a weapon that could cause earthquakes.

What started as an exercise to make our votes count has revealed, thanks to Madsen, Mad Cow, our own fearless DU investigators and many others, the real reasons behind the Bush-Saudi connection,the Iraq war and the complicity of our corporate media.

The Saudi royal family,an evil dictatorship, is preparing for its ultimate overthrow by the fundamentalists.Our militaries are in Iraq to act as a buffer between Saudi Arabia and Iran(center of the fundamentalist revolution) in order to give them time to make their escape or, if possible, to invade Iran and eliminate the threat. This doesn't seem to be working as we're getting our ass kicked in Iraq.
So the Saudis are making good their escape. But to where? Where would the Saudis, accustomed to rule with their great wealth, find a home.
